New Producer Applications Now Open

Applications are now open for the next round of New Producers, our training programme for people who’d like to better understand how to produce film events for audiences in Scotland.

About New Producers

The New Producers programme aims to provide a paid placement opportunity to work for a cinema or festival within Scotland. There are four roles available for individuals to create and produce film screening activity for an established film organisation. New Producers will be supported with training and will work closely with their Host organisation to learn all aspects of programming, marketing and delivering film screenings.

Learn more about our 2023/24 New Producers here.

The programme offers a placement of four months, based at a host organisation. The placement is offered part-time at the real living wage of £12 per hour. Each role is offered for four months, 3 days per week, 8 hour days.

Note: this may vary between organisations – to be discussed at the interview.

Host organisations

Host organisations for New Producer placements are Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA), Scottish Queer International Film Festival (SQIFF), Scottish Mental Health Arts Film Festival and Take One Action.

Please find more information about these organisations here.
