Susie Evans

Susie Evans is a Film Curator (Children and Families) at the Barbican Cinema.

Susie has worked as part of the Barbican Cinema team for over twenty years now, the past fifteen of which have been spent concentrating on the family and young people’s programme (with a couple of breaks to start a family of their own!).

Susie focuses on curating film strands that can connect with the next generation of cinema from an early age. They aim to offer films that both reflect the wide tastes of young audiences, and are as varied as the Barbican’s ‘grown-up’ programme. The Barbican’s family and young people’s programmes include Family Film Club, Preschool Pics and Parent & Baby Screenings.

Susie has also coordinated Chronic Youth – a film festival completely curated by a group of young programmers aged 18-25yrs old which has become an annual fixture in Barbican’s programme.
