BFI FAN EDI Webinar: How to build community partnerships

Case studies from three film exhibitors who co-curated accessible screenings with their local community.

Scarborough Film Festival, Magic Lantern Cinema and Ropetackle Arts Centre were supported by Charlie Little (BFI FAN’s EDI Champion and Access Consultant, Matchbox Cine) as part of BFI FAN’s Disability Curation Project.

They collaborated with local disability groups/individuals to programme accessible events and showcase disability representation on screen. This session will use these case studies to help you to co-curate accessible film screenings within your own community.

In this online webinar, Charlie will be in conversation with Annie Grundy (Magic Lantern Cinema), Martha Cattell (Scarborough Film Festival) & Jayne Shipley (Artist/Scarborough Film Festival). You can expect:

→ Three case studies from UK film exhibitors
→ Effective approaches to building community relationships
→ Developing audiences, with access and representation at the forefront
→ How to sustain community partnerships over time

This session will be live captioned. Free to join for all UK-wide BFI FAN members.
