We have developed two brand-new resources to help you to bring your screenings to life.
From getting your community cinema off the ground to dealing with technical challenges, organising screenings is no mean feat. Our new resources are designed to help you get the basics right so you can face licence dilemmas, technical challenges and projection questions with confidence.
Now Showing! A Guide to Creating Your Own Community Cinema and a Technical Screenings Toolkit are now live on our Resources page. Learn more about them below.

Now Showing! A Guide to Creating Your Own Community Cinema
Now Showing! provides you with the key information you need to start your own community cinema. Whether you are a film fan or completely new to film exhibition, this guide will help you each step of the way, from determining which licences and insurances you need to screen films safely and legally, to creating your vision and connecting with your audiences.
It also features a handy checklist at the end so you can easily track your progress and break the information down into simple steps. We’ve also signposted organisations that can support you along the way! The guide has been created based on the original Now Showing Guide jointly commissioned by Film Hub Scotland, Cinema For All, Regional Screen Scotland and Creative Scotland.
