Adventures in Cinema supports projects that help children and young people to experience the fun of cinema, and to enjoy a wider range of screen culture.
Under Screen Culture 2033, the BFI Film Audience Network recognises how important early cinema visits are for the health of the exhibition sector, broadening its focus to include both children and young people.
Adventures in Cinema supports Film Hub Scotland members to help children and young people (aged up to 18) regularly experience the fun of cinema. By engaging with children, families and young people, you can introduce new audiences to your work and foster future generations of cinemagoers.
About the fund
Adventures in Cinema supports in-person screenings for families and young people. We want to increase the number of fun, engaging events for young people which can inspire them to connect with film. Examples of activity might include:
- Regular weekend film club – perhaps with a regular host or with accompanying activity guides
- Holiday film screenings
- After-school film club
- Young programmers groups/activity
- Family-friendly neurodivergent screenings
