FHS New Promoters: Where You're Meant to Be

From Scotland With Love

Cinema is back on the big screen (and the wee screen) at Macrobert Arts Centre. At 7pm on Saturday 24th October, Paul Fegan’s Where You’re Meant To Be will be coming to Macrobert. Not only will it be screening in-venue, but there will be a simultaneous online screening of the film for audience members who prefer to stay home. As an added bonus, Paul Fegan will be joining the audience for a live Zoom Q&A, available to all audience members, online and in-person.

Paul Fegan’s first feature documentary follows the iconic Scottish musician, former Arab Strap frontman, Aidan Moffat, as he tours Scotland with his re-imagined old folk songs. However, before the tour begins, Moffat meets Sheila Stewart, the last in line of travelling folk royalty. Their meeting transforms Moffat’s viewpoint and alters the course of the film. The film is heart-warming, hilarious and moving. A true celebration of two of Scotland’s most unique voices.

Paul Fegan will be joining the audience for a live Zoom Q&A after the screening. Fegan is an award- winning director but has also spent most of his career as a music promoter, creating music events such as the Triptych festival. It was at this festival that Fegan met Aidan Moffat. Moffat approached him about an idea he had to tour Scotland with rewritten Scottish songs and this is how Where You’re Meant To Be was born.

Tickets for Where You’re Meant To Be are on sale now from macrobertartscentre.org.Audiences can choose from three ticket prices - £4.50, £6.50 or £8.50. Where You’re Meant To Be will be screened online and in venue at 7pm on Saturday 24 October and the live Zoom Q&A will be immediately after the film has ended.  The screening will be closed-captioned and there will be a BSL interpreter for the Q&A.
